What's special About the Library?
Our library is the only one locally that we know of dedicated to just a single topic - cancer and materials that help you better understand the disease.

What's in the Library?
Books, videos, but mostly easy-to-understand pamphlets, flip charts and brochures about different types of cancer, side effects from cancer treatments and coping strategies. They are published by specialized organizations in the cancer care field and other experts. We are happy to share them with you either by mail, or referral.

How was the collection assembled?
Our staff has attends - as part of their required continuing education - seminars and forums about a range of cancer-related issues. They return with educational materials and we select the best - accurate, up-to-date and user friendly - to include in our library.

What about newsletters?
We are on the mailing list of about 25 newsletters - mostly from the large research hospitals. Any article we think would be useful gets clipped and added to our library materials.

Is there computer access and assistance?
Yes. Any visitor can use our free terminal. Our staff will quickly assist to guide you to the most useful websites that will offer up-to-date information, and help answer any questions you might have.
